Local Travel and Sustainable Options

Liverpool is a compact city that's easy to explore on foot, but it also has a well-connected public transport system. The city’s extensive bus network, operated by Arriva and Stagecoach, provides frequent services linking key areas, including the city centre and suburbs. For rail travel, the Merseyrail network offers quick connections to nearby towns like Southport, Wirral, and Chester, with regular trains from the city centre.

The city supports sustainable travel through a growing network of cycling lanes and CityBike, a bike hire scheme with stations across Liverpool. For a scenic and historic experience, take the Mersey Ferry across the river to the Wirral Peninsula, enjoying views of the city skyline.
