Getting to Prague

Lying at the heart of Europe, Prague is one of the continent’s finest cities and is a major cultural and economic centre for Czechia. The city has a rich architectural heritage that reflects both the uncertain currents of history in Bohemia and an urban life extending back more than 1,000 years.

Being a popular tourist destination, it is easily accessible with routes from all over Europe. International buses and comfortable trains provide regular connections on many European routes and the airport handles more than 15 million passengers a year.

By Plane

Prague's Airport, Václav Havel Prague Airport, is well connected and served by around 70 airlines, including all major European airlines. The airport connects directly to 130 countries, meaning that travel from further afield in should be seamless.

It is located on the northwestern outskirts of Prague in the Ruzyně district. Connections to the city center are provided by public transport buses, AE – Airport Express buses, or Tick Tack-Airport Taxi.

By Train

Three European railway corridors intersect in Prague, connecting it with the whole of Europe. You can easily arrive in Prague from other major cities in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland within 4 - 7 hours.

The city’s primary train station is the Prague Main Railway Station, which sends over 200,000 trains a year to all major Czech cities and abroad. The second international train station is Prague Holešovice.

By Bus

More than 100 transport companies service the central bus station in Prague, including international carriers. RegioJet is the main domestic and interstate carrier company which operates both buses and trains. Other large carriers include FlixBusLEO Express also provides bus connections to Prague from Germany and Austria.

The central bus station in Prague is Prague Florenc Bus Station, a full-service station in the city center at the Florenc metro station (lines B and C).
