DTA Funding
Terms and Conditions
Funding of up to 140 EUR will only be offered to those who meet the eligibility criteria laid out below. There are up to 30 funded places (up to 140 EUR) available for the DTA. Funding is only awarded to UACES members who are Masters students intending to do a PhD, current PhD students, or those who have submitted their PhD within the last three years (at the time of the event).
Funding will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Conditions of Funding
General
- Delegates must register and accept their funded place by 15 November 2024;
- The event is free to attend for all delegates but funding is only available to UACES members. If you are not a UACES member, you can join here.
- Funding is conditional upon attendance. Delegates must attend both days of the event (28 & 29 November). You will be required to sign in on the day of the event;
- Funding is only available to Masters students, PhD students and Early Career Researchers who are currently registered with a recognised university and whose research is in European Studies or a neighbouring field (e.g. Politics, IR, History, Sociology, Economics, Law, Public Policy, Cultural Studies, etc.) with a focus on contemporary Europe or the European Union;
- By accepting a funded space at the DTA you agree to promote your attendance at the event across your social media networks.
- Although it is not mandatory to do so, funding recipients may be asked by the UACES Office or a member of the Graduate Forum Committee to produce a blog post. By accepting a funded space, you agree that you would fulfill this task should it be asked of you.
- We cannot contribute towards accommodation expenses for anyone who is based in Prague or who lives within an hour's train ride of Prague.
Eligible Expenses
UACES is offering up 140 EUR per delegate towards expenses associated with attending the DTA, i.e, travel and accommodation. Funding can only be used to cover the following:
Travel
Travel will only be eligible for funding if it takes place between 26-30 November 2024;
5. We can only contribute towards the cost of economy class travel;

7. Travel should be to and from the same location, unless agreed otherwise with the UACES office.
Accommodation
Eligible accommodation is either a hotel, hostel or B&B. We cannot reimburse students who stay with friends or family;
8. Accommodation will ONLY be eligible for funding for stays between 26-29 November 2024. If you book multiple nights, the maximum funding available will still be 140 EUR for the entire stay including your travel;
