Our 54th Annual Conference

Scholars, researchers, and experts from across Europe will come together in Trento to exchange ideas, insights, and innovative research in the field of European Studies. Panel discussions, interactive panels, and networking opportunities will provide a unique space for academic growth and collaboration.

A diverse range of topics will once again be part of the conference agenda, all under the umbrella of Themed Tracks. 

Trento, with its rich history and picturesque surroundings, provides the perfect backdrop for this event. Attendees will have the chance to immerse themselves in the culture of the region and enjoy the beauty of Italy.

In 2024, UACES will be offering the main conference as a three-day in-person event, from the 1st to the 4th of September, with a virtual day on the 9th of September. You can view the full conference programme here.

Important Update on Tickets

Due to overwhelming demand, the UACES 54th Annual Conference 2024 in Trento has sold out. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you are a presenter at the in-person conference who has not yet registered, please email admin@uaces.org to arrange your registration as we do have some limited spaces available.

Funding Support for Conference Delegates

 

Caring Responsibilities: If you have caring responsibilities that may hinder your ability to attend the conference, you may be eligible for financial assistance. We provide a fixed grant of €100 to assist with caring costs for delegates attending the in-person conference.

Visa Requirements: Obtaining a visa to attend the conference can be challenging, especially for international delegates. We offer grants of up to €100 to help cover visa costs for eligible delegates attending the in-person conference.

Travel Support: Additionally, UACES offers travel support for student, PhD researcher, and early-career members attending the Annual Conference. We cover up to 50% of travel expenses to/from Trento, with maximum amounts specified based on travel distance.

The School of International Studies (SIS)

 

The School of International Studies (SSI) at the University of Trento promotes research, education and professional training in the field of international studies. It is graduate school which focuses on the challenges associated with the processes of globalization and European integration and promotes multidisciplinary approaches to research.

The Department of Sociology and Social Research develops the heritage of the first Italian faculty devoted to the sociological thinking. It employs both sociologists and scientists of other branches, whose studies contribute to the in-depth analysis of the border contents of the social discipline.

Jean Monnet Centre

 

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, established at the University of Trento in 1999, promotes research and dissemination activities related to European integration aimed at students, scholars and the wider community. It works in close connection with UniTrento professors and with local students' associations and organizations committed in the training of students on European Institutions working process, and global issues such as climate change.
